Happy Mail

Nikolas got his Guide to the Magic for Kids book today in the mail. It is an awesome guidebook for kids to take with them when visiting Walt Disney World. It has maps, tips, and descriptions of each attraction including a place to rate it and stickers in the back to place on the page after you have experienced each one.

Thanks to some unexpected pixie dust, Nik got a autographed copy along with some fun trinkets from the author.

Disney fans maybe a bit fanatic about Disney, but they are also FANTASTIC!

Crocodile Dock Rocked!!

Nik had an awesome time this week at our church's VBS program, Crocodile Dock.

Here he is ready to head to the swamp, wearing the cool shirt made by Mr. Jim.

He loved his crew leader, Mrs. Amy. I got to sub for her on Wednesday--she did an amazing job.

One of the special crafts were Comfort Buddies. Each child got to make two--one to keep and the other will be distributed to kids coping with disasters, such as floods or tornadoes.

Nik's favorite part of VBS each year is the Bible Buddies. Here is Jacques le Croc, Blossom Possum, Tucker Turtle, Flash the firefly and Belle the spoonbill.

New Glasses

I finally got a new pair of glasses. I think the last time I got new ones was before the new millinium. I almost always wear my contacts, so since you probably won't ever see me in them, here is a self-potrait.

When Gary saw me he called me "Ethan," my nephew. The first time I saw myself, I saw my sister Ruby.

Trip Report: Great America

Nik and I joined my sister Mary and her family on a trip to Six Flags Great America yesterday.

Yes, Mr. 6 was there:

Part of my goal was to get Nikolas on their mildest roller coaster, The Whizzer. While, he was brave enough to go on, he didn’t like it at all.

What he did like was riding some of the milder rides.

Here he is on the Wiggles Big Red Plane

Then we headed over to this ride

Nik loved the Mystery Machine ride so much he rode it three times

He got to meet SD in both statue...

And live form

As much as he loved that ride, his favorite was Buccaneer Battle, where you have water canons and you can shoot at targets and other boats and people with water canons shooting back at you around the ride. He wanted to do it again so before we left we did it again, but my sister's family all bailed on us so it was just Nik and I. I think my brother-in-law, Todd took great pleasure in soaking us!

40 Days til Disney

Before I head out to scrapbook with my sister today, I am adding more autograph pages to celebrate getting that much closer to our trip.
