Week in Review 6/22-6/28/08

This past week was pretty busy. Nikolas had his 2ND week of swim lessons and experienced a bit of regression. He got water in his nose and mouth the week before and is now refusing to jump into the deeper pool. Here he is doing a back float.

Nik recently decided that he wants a Monster Truck themed birthday party in September. So, one day after swimming we stopped at the party supply store to see if they had any MT supplies. We didn't find any, but they did have these cool hamburger hats:

Our church had Vacation Bible School this week. The theme was Power Lab. Nik was in the Squeaky Beakers (preschool) group and loved to collect the bible memory buddies. This week he learned that:
Jesus gives us the power to be thankful.
Jesus gives us the power to be help others.
Jesus gives us the power to be brave.
Jesus gives us the power to live forever.
Jesus gives us the power to tell others about God.
Each day, when the kids heard these Bible points they all pointed their finger in the air and screamed "Aha!"

Friday was the official last game of the tee-ball season (we also had a make-up game on Saturday). At the end of the game, the coach passed out the trophies and the team went out for frozen custard.

Week in Review

Here are some of the highlights of the past week:

On Tuesday, Nikolas and I meet a couple of his preschool buddies at the zoo.
We saw animals, had lunch, played at the playground and got up-close and personal with a peacock.

Grandma came out to see Nik's tee-ball game on Friday. Nikolas had a good game and got to play "pitcher" and first base.

His coach even checked to see his potential as a switch hitter.

Gary had a great performance in another drama at church on Sunday, afterward he gave a short testimony about how he stepped out of his comfort zone to join the drama team and encouraged us all to try out a new ministry.

When we got home, Chewy, Nikolas and I gave him his Father's Day gifts. The two guys spent the afternoon with Grandma and Great-Grandma, while I headed to work.

Our busy weekend

Friday night we had a tee ball game. Saturday morning, Gary volunteered to work the concession stand at the ball field. Saturday afternoon was Ethan's graduation party.

Nik and Gary left the party early to head to a birthday party at McDonalds for one of Nikolas' school/church friends. After church on Sunday, we headed out to Geneva for a Kane County Cougars baseball game. It was a tee-ball association group outing. After a short rain delay we watched the Cougars beat the Beloit Snappers 4-3.
