I used another one of the kits I got from attending Scrap Mania at Archivers. I used the quote (from Grandmother Willow) as part of an Earth Day challenge posted on Scrapping the Magic.

Week in Review: June 15-21, 2009

This past week, Nikolas attended Discovery Camp at the Brookfield Zoo. While he was busy having fun and learning about animals, I was able to wander around the zoo and got a rare picture of the male lion awake. This was taken on Monday, the only great weather day of the week.


On Tuesday, to escape the rain, I went inside the penguin house and got to witness their feeding time.


Nik had a great time at zoo camp, learning about animal habitats, communication, eating habits, etc. Here he is showing off the cool alligator hat he made.




On Saturday, Nik had a tee-ball game. In the first inning he got to be the pitcher...


he had a great hit...


and spent some time in the outfield.


We had a great Father's Day planned. In the morning Gary got his presents.


Then after church, we went to play mini-golf.


Of course, we let Gary win.


Then for dinner, Gary requested homemade pizza. Nikolas was his personal chef, creating a pizza exactly how his daddy wanted it.

Everytime you attend a Scrap Mania crop at Archivers, they give you a page pack (supplies and directions to create a layout). I have quite a few of this packs from all the times my sister and I have attended. I decided to see if I could start using them. Here is the first:


Gary made this fort for Nikolas to play in.

The page pack comes with plenty of paper. I was able to make several cards with the leftovers.

67th Layout of 2009

This layout puts me over last year for the total number of layouts I made each year...and the year is only about half over!

I picked up the stickers and pattern paper at the Target dollar spot.

60 DAYS TIL DISNEY

On our 2006 trip, Nikolas met a lot of characters. I made a seperate book for his autographs and pictures.

I took some many pictures of the dinosaur exhibit at Brookfield Zoo that it needed two layouts to fit them all.

62nd Layout of 2009-Mary's Scrapbook

Gary, his sister and I worked hard to create a scrapbook for their mom's 60th birthday. We finished it time to give it to her on Christmas.

I used the Earth kit from Coordinates Collections for this layout.

Summer is Here

This past Sunday the tee-ball association had their annual outing to the Kane County Cougars game. It was a great time (the cougars won).



After the game Nikolas joined the kids (and adults) to run the bases.



Monday was Nik's last day of kindergarten. He is offically a 1st grader. All year long he kept telling me that he didn't like school (not enough playtime like preschool), but he is going to miss his teacher.



Mrs. S is a great teacher and I enjoyed helping in her classroom.

To celebrate the start of Summer vacation, we took a family outing to the Drive-In.


Nikolas was dancing with the speaker pole to pass the time until the sun went down. He loved his dance partner.



Nikolas stayed up for through both movies (until 1AM!!) but fell asleep about 3 minutes into the ride home.

Celebrating Gary and Toni's birthdays on the 4th of July in 2001. I picked up the pattern paper last year at Target's dollar spot.
