My 5 Favorite Things of 2015 (in no particular order):

For my short hair style, this tool is awesome. I can dry and style my hair in one step. If I need to restyle it later in the day, I just comb out any hairspray, spray my hair with styling product and re-blow dry. With the negative ion generator, I have notice an improvement in the health and appearance of my hair.

Diabetes Diagnosis
In April I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. To most people this would be a negative, but it has been the kick in the butt I needed to change my eating habits and become more consistent with exercise. I have also begun to work on the emotional reasons that I overeat, which has been difficult but rewarding. I have also lost about 25 pounds.

Scrap Gals podcast & YouTube

I know that YouTube has been around for a long time, but I just discovered the great scrapbooking community that exists there. I used to rely on inspiration from all the scrapbooking magazines that were published, but through the years most have gone out of print. Then I would be able to find inspiration from the new products for sale at the scrapbooking stores in my area—but first Archivers went out of business and then this year my local scrapbooking store, Memories and Beyond closed. I’m not sure how I discovered the Scrap Gals, but listening to Tiffany and Tracie quickly lead me to YouTube where I discovered many talented scrappers. Some of my favorites are InkieQuill, Amy Tangerine, Victoria Marie and the Crafty Maven Getaway. With all this wonderful inspirations to turn to, I have completed over 230 layouts this year—my personal best!

Orthotic inserts

Thanks to years in retail, I have suffered with plantar fasciitis for quite some time. On occasion, I will get a bad flair up which have lead me to get shoe inserts. The first pair I had I seldom wore because of where they cut off in my shoe. But this year I went to a different podiatrist that my sister recommended and was fitted for a new pair. These were customized to my feet and I LOVE THEM! I rarely have any foot pain even after 6-7 hours on my feet.

Map My Walk website

With my increased focus on health this year—and the decrease of foot pain I was so happy to create a great walking route using the Map MyWalk website. My current route is 2.98 miles and I try to use it 3-4 times a week. I started out walking only, but now I do somewhere between 5-7 jogging intervals each time. This is training for a couple of 5K races I plan to complete in 2016.
