My sister Mary and I enjoyed a night of scrapbooking last night at Archivers. I completed 13 layouts and will be sharing them all in the coming days.
This one is from Nikolas' birthday party at McDonald's. I didn't have any embellishments planned for this page when I got there. Luckily, I found this great circle motif overlay. Mary gave me some orange brads to mount it to the cardstock.

Favorite Picture for Family Photo Shoot
14th layout of 2009-Pretty Boy
I copied the basic design (placement of pictures, title and journaling) from a layout published in the February issue of Creating Keepsakes (page 111), the style of the title came from another layout on page 110, where the artist applied rub-ons to colored paper and then cut them out. I printed out my title using the Warren font, stamped the color over the letters and then cut them out.
I used two pieces of the same pattern paper, but the colors look really washed out on the left page.

13th Layout of 2009-Sun Devotion
12th Layout of 2009-That's What I want for Xmas
I've been preparing pages for an upcoming crop at the end of the month. I started to plan this page and realized that it would be better to complete it now b/c I won't remember exactly how I wanted the pictures to overlap. So this one is out of order chronologically.
I used the last piece of cardstock and pattern paper left from Coordinates Collections' Dec 07 kit Jingle and the letter stickers I just got in the Jan 09 Rumba kit. The ribbon is from my stash. I used my Silhouette to cut an large "O" out of the pattern paper and used both the inner circle and the letter shape.

Seven More Months until I see Mickey!
I can't believe I missed posting these yesterday. Yes, I can because my day was all messed up after they called school due to the freezing temps. Well today, is another "Snow Day", but the cold has been chanting "7 more months until Disney World..."
Here are some more layouts from our 2006 trip. This is Day Three: 10/21, spent at Magic Kingdom.
These first layout was totally scraplifted from some one's layout I found online, I think at 2 Peas.
The titles on the Tomorrowland and Fantasyland layouts were done before I had my Silhouette, so I cut both titles out by hand.

New Year's Resolutions
2008 is gone and I am very proud that I have had about a 50% success rate on my resolutions. Here’s how they turned out:
I resolve to take more pictures! This resolution was too vague to truly measure if it was successful. I did try to keep my camera in my purse at all times, which helped.
I resolve to read the Bible in a year. Accomplished!
I resolve to read 12 Newbery Medal winners this year. Accomplished!
I resolve to lose 20 pounds. I lost about 5 pounds since the start of the new year.
Here are my resolutions for 2009:
I resolve to read 12 Children classic literature titles. I bought a copy of The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame last week, so that will be my first selections. Here are the other eleven I plan to read (in no particular order):
Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe
The Three Musketeers by Alexander Dumas
The Voyages of Doctor Dolittle by Hugh Lofting
The Call of the Wild by Jack London
The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling
The Adventures of Robin Hood by Howard Pyle
Gulliver’s Travels by Jonathan Swift
Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain
Swiss Family Robinson by Johann David Wyss
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne
I resolve to exercise three times a week. I'm hoping that focusing on getting moving will help with the whole weight loss goal. Part of this goal is to start a walking program with Nikolas this spring so we are both conditioned to tackle all the walking at Disney World.
I resolve to get a tattoo. This is one of my "4 before 40"--four things I want to accomplish before I turn 40 in September. I have been talking about getting a butterfly tattoo since before I turned 30, so we will have to wait and see on this one.
I resolve to learn to ice skate. Another "4 before 40" item (the other two are read thru the Bible and lose 20 pounds) and the one I have the least faith in accomplishing. It is the pipe dream of the four.
I also have a challenge for myself. In 2008, I completed 65 scrapbook layouts and three mini books. I hope to meet or exceed that amount in 2009.
